Bengaluru to witness, next promotional tour on India’s largest trade fair on environmental technologies, IFAT India

Bengaluru 30th Sept 2016 IFAT India – the leading trade fair environmental technology – unites the entire environmental industry at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. One month before the show, on August 30, the organizers make a pit stop on their promotional tour at Bengaluru. By bringing the trade fair to the capital of Karnataka, the IFAT India team aims to raise awareness for both environmental issues in the region as well as the latest solutions and innovations which are on the market.

Igor Palka, COO of Messe München India, says: “As one of the fastest growing cosmopolitan cities in Asia, Bengaluru needs to focus on a sustainable, clean development path. As promising the economic growth may seem, the resulting urbanization leads to a degradation of the environment.” Recent cases have shown that the Indian IT hub is still facing major environmental challenges, like un-disposed waste, untreated sewage or water pollution (ground and lake water). Palka continues: “I would be delighted to welcome the entire engineering community at IFAT India in September in Mumbai. Our trade fair offers technology and services that are tailored to the Indian market and that could prove to be crucial for Karnataka, too.”

The outlook for this year’s event is more than promising: 150 exhibitors have already announced their participation. Among them are market leaders like Aquanomics, BASF, Bilfinger, Endress+Hauser, Excel, Godrej, Ion Exchange, Kirloskar Brothers, Netzsch, Putzmeister, Tata Projects, Wilo and many more. The 2016 edition also features country pavilions from China, Germany, Norway and Switzerland. The exhibits at IFAT India cover the following fields:water extraction and treatment, sewage treatment, water distribution, refuse disposal and recycling, generating energy from waste materials, energy efficiency technologies, decontamination of old sites, soil treatment etc.

The trade fair is accompanied by an extensive supporting program including technical presentations, panel discussions and tutorials, where scientists and industry experts – both from India and overseas –share their knowledge with the audience. Among the keynotes of this year’s Innovation Exchange Forum are, for example: “Technologies for building a modern Water and Waste Water Treatment system for Power Plants” by Pinaki Bhadury (WIPRO, India) or “New Era in Wastewater Management & Sewage Pumping” by Stephane Cumonceaux (Side Industrie, France). Further, the implementation of biogas plants in India is another hot topic on the program. Gaurav Kedia, Chairman of the Indian Biogas Association (IBA), presents a new cooperation project for the development of the biogas sector in India.

This year for the first time, there will be a special area dedicated to training, live demonstrations and skills contests, running for the entire period of the show. The aim of the Active Learning Center is to promote talent and combat the shortage of skilled workers in the Indian environmental sector.

Brigade Group announces Q1 FY 17 financial results

Bengaluru, August 4, 2016:  Brigade Enterprises Limited’s Consolidated Revenues for the first quarter ended 30th June, 2016 were Rs. 466.4 crores, up from Rs. 441.1 crores recorded during the first quarter of the previous fiscal.  The Consolidated EBIDTA increased by 11% to Rs.124.7 crores, up from Rs. 112.1 crores for the first quarter of the previous fiscal.

Commenting on the company’s performance, Mr. M.R. Jaishankar, Chairman and Managing Director, Brigade Enterprises Limited, said “We have done reasonably well in these challenging times. This is the first quarter in which the financials are declared  under the new Indian Accounting Standards. The increasing commercial space demand will spruce up the residential demand in the coming quarters.                                                                   Brigade Showcase event 2016, our annual property event  held recently was well received and we are quite optimistic about the inherent demand in all the domains  that we operate in the near future.”

Consolidated Operational Performance

 Ø Real Estate space aggregating to 0.37 million sq. ft with a total value of Rs. 212.2 crores was sold during the first quarter ending 30th June, 2016.  The average price realisation was Rs. 5,715 per sq. ft.

Ø During the quarter, two projects were launched – WTC Kochi Phase II and Four Points by Sheraton (Kochi)

Ø Leasing and Hospitality segments contributed Rs. 57.5 crores and Rs. 46.1 crores respectively to the consolidated revenues for the first quarter ended 30th June, 2016.

Ø  The Debt Equity ratio (net) of the Company on 30th June, 2016 is 0.98:1 . Credit rating of “A” has been assigned by both CRISIL and ICRA with stable and positive outlook respectively.

Over 46 People Avail of Discounted Treatments and Free Consultation Services at St Martha’s Hospital on World Hepatitis Day

Bangalore, 1st August, 2016: St Martha’s Hospital has always believed in making quality care available to all its patients. In order to do something that has a direct impact on society, St Martha’s Hospital conducted a three day camp that offered free registration and consultation, and discounted treatments for Hepatitis A and B, on World Hepatitis Day. Tests for Hepatitis A and B were offered at half price and as were the liver test and vaccination for Hepatitis B.These were offered from 28th July through 30th of July.

A team of doctors and medical personnel manned the outpatient room assigned for these services. They dealt with an average of 15 patients in a day. Speaking on services provided, Dr. Hemavathi, Family Medicine Consultant at St Martha’s who managed the camp said, “Most of the people who came to us are unaware of the dangers of Hepatitis, yet belong to the high risk groups. Besides consultation and vaccinations, we also took the initiative of informing them of what to be careful of. We also encouraged them to spread the word among their friends and family about the camp so that we could meet and help more people”.

Hanumanthappa, a daily wager and his family of four, were among those who availed of the test services offered. He says, “We know there are many diseases around, but we are unsure of what we must do to be careful. When we heard of this camp, we thought it would be best to visit and avail of the services”.

Speaking on the organization of the camp, Sr. Teresa Mandakath, the President of St Martha’s Hospital said, “Our aim has always been in keeping of the motto of the hospital –to keep the interests of the people ahead of everything else. Hepatitis is an ailment that cuts across ages and gender. Being aware and being safe is the most important. We felt that an initiative of this nature would help bring more people under the umbrella of safety that quality consultation and timely vaccinations can ensure”.

St Martha’s initiative took place from 28th to 30th July 2016 at the OPD in Room 113.
