Addressing the gathering, Dr. Dayananda Pai, Chairman of BMSCE said, “We should thank our parents and alma mater for what we are today. Col. Shankar, our Chief Guest here today is a role model. The objective of having an alumni day is three-fold- we are proud of your achievements and want you to share it with us; we need to bond and keep this network alive and thirdly, we need to help and support the less fortunate to pursue their studies.”
Dr. Pai further added, “Thanks to our magnanimous trustees, we have collected over 5.5 crores as corpus funds and has helped us to provide scholarships to many. The hunt is on to find her and felicitate her!”
Sharing his thoughts at the Alumni Day, K. Jairaj, Trustee, BMSET said, “We congratulate each and every alumni who have helped build this nation in their own way. BMS has taught us no matter where we are and what we achieve, sharing, caring and team spirit should be the basic priniciple of life. I would also like to remember our donor trustee Ragini Narayan for having put in her efforts to contribute to this alumni network.”
The speeches and felicitations was followed by some heart rending music by a well known band named Swaralaya Amrutha. Thus the tradition of bringing together alumni from different batches over almost 60 years continues to enable alumni to meet with and network with others from the same as well as differing fields of engineering and management, with the common ground of having been shaped by the same great institution – BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru.
