PVR brings back the IMAX magic and its biggest Gold Class in the Silicon Valley of India

PVR, one of the top cinema exhibition companies in the world, celebrates the launch of its newly constructed 9 screen multiplex at VR Bengaluru, Whitefield. Huge 3D posters of cult movies like Everest, Avengers, X- Men along with Bollywood blockbusters have accentuate the lobby appearance. The pre foyer area is triple height with touch panel quick tix and movie info kiosks with plasmas, artworks, poster boxes displaying movie info, trailers and other information. The lobby is also outfitted with comfortable seating, dim lights, giving an elite and classy ambience of PVR cinemas. The multiplex promises to cater to 1393 patrons. Enabled with state of the art interiors, the multiplex also offers 3D technology with 7.1 channel surround sound, a separate IMAX audi and four unique Gold Class audis.

For the first time, PVR has also developed a gourmet menu including gourmet hot dogs, salads, baked fries, apart from the a la carte Gold Class menu to satiate the need of food connoisseurs. The healthy menu is specially urbanized to tickle the taste buds of movie aficionados.

Mumbai, December 24, 2015: Shoppers Stop has created India’s largest Santa Claus at its store at Inorbit Mall in Malad, Mumbai.  This gigantic Santa Claus stands at a whopping 71 feet! With this installation, Shoppers Stop is set to make an entry into the Limca Book of Records.

The magnificent installation of Santa Claus has been made in a record time of 12 days by the in-house Visual Merchandising team. Over 30 people worked round the clock to construct it.

India Arts & Gems Fair (IAGF)

Bangalore 26th December 2015 : India Arts & Gems Fair (IAGF) along with the prestigious Karnataka Art Institution, Chitrakala Parishath, and The Leela Palace Bangalore presented a modern and contemporary art fair in Bengaluru, focusing on Art and Jewellery from all over India.

The inaugural edition of the India Art and Gems Fair held from 25th December – 27th  December, 2015, brought together Art, Sculpture and Jewellery across genres, media and cultures from renowned and upcoming artists, twenty select Art Galleries as well as select  leading jewellers. The exposition included solo projects during the three-day event, which will see fashion shows, live painting and dances.

Sri Kumaran Children’s Home Bangalore wins ‘Pearson National School Quiz’ competition!!

Winning team all set for a trip to NASA’s Kennedy space center

Bangalore, December 11, 2015Sri Kumaran Children’s Home won the grand finale of Pearson National School Quiz competition held today in Bangalore bagging the grand trip to NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre. The nation-wide series of the prestigious competition organized by Pearson India was held across 11 cities in India through the month of November and provided an opportunity for students to showcase their talent at a national platform. The chief guest for the event, Mr. VVS Laxman, Former Cricketer graced the occasion and handed over trophies to the winning teams.
In an endeavour to encourage students to further enrich their skills, Pearson Schools hosted its annual leg of Quiz Champs nationwide engaging students in healthy competition through various interesting as well as challenging rounds. The Quiz received overwhelming response from the student community across the nation and witnessed the participation of more than 1300 teams from 204 schools. A total of 2700 students actively participated in the quiz and showcased their exemplary talent. The students who won the city finals in each region were honoured for their remarkable performance.
After 5 weeks of fierce competition held across 11 cities, a total of 12 schools and 25 students from 5th and 8th standard participated in the grand finale from Bangalore, Jammu, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Mangalore, Raipur, Tumkur, Bhopal, Indore and Jaipur. The competition was a tie breaker between Bangalore and Pune and pitting their wit and knowledge against Pune, Master Aman Suraj and Master Sohan Desai from Sri Kumaran Children’s Home, Bangalore comprised the winning team followed by The Bishop School, Pune and St Andrews School, Hyderabad who were the first and second runners up who won Apple Ipad mini and Amazon Kindle respectively.
Speaking about the National Quiz, Mr. Deepak Mehrotra, Managing Director, Pearson India said, “Pearson National Quiz provided a platform for students to showcase their zeal and test their knowledge to battle with the best in the country. Apart from promoting healthy competition, the quiz aimed to encourage students to go beyond education that is not confined to set of text books or the four walls of a classroom. With the overwhelming response that we have received, we plan to make Pearson National Quiz an annual property and would like to thank all the schools for lending their full support and whole hearted participation in the competition.”
The format of the quiz was structured in a manner that not only tests the knowledge of students but also required them to apply sophisticated team tactics. The quiz created a unique platform for students to learn the importance of fostering team spirit and indulging in healthy competition.
The winning team was honored by Mr. VVS Laxman, Former Cricketer who said, “It is wonderful to see the enthusiasm with which students participated in the quiz from across cities, and the extent of their general knowledge. Winning and losing is part of the game, but most importantly, participating and learning is what counts. I would like to extend my whole hearted congratulations to all the participants of the quiz.”
The questions at the quiz ranged from an entire spectrum of topics from the school curriculum of 5th-8th grade and also included a certain amount of current events, sports, and popular culture. Pearson has partnered with Nexus Consulting for the content, conduct and research of the competition.
