Bangalore, January 30th,2019: Legrand India, a global leader in electrical and digital building infrastructure inaugurated their first voice enabled “state-of-the-art experience centre” Innoval in the tech city Bangalore today. Innoval will host Legrand Group India’s company products – Legrand, Numeric & Valrack. Oxfam flags off 8th edition of Bengaluru Trailwalker

Bengaluru, 28th January 2019: Oxfam India, the fully independent Indian organization focused on fighting inequality and discrimination, concluded the 8th edition of its Bengaluru Trailwalker in Tharabanahalli, Karnataka, held from January 18th– 20th 2019. With a crucial message of ‘Walk for Equality’, Trailwalker builds team spirit and also raises funds to support campaigns which help create an equitable world.

The 100Km and 50km trail started from the edge of a beautiful valley of Nandi Hills near the ancient Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple and ended at Olde Bangalore resort, Tharabanahalli.

This year, 937 people participated in the Trailwalker by forming the teams of four. This included a total of 12 all women’s teams that walked for equality. The event also saw more female volunteers than males, women staff managing checkpoints at nights, and night trail marshalling by women biker marshals.

Giving team building a compete relook; Oxfam Trailwalker helps explore newer vistas for people to overcome their odds and find meaningful change in their lives. Oxfam Trailwalker has integrated crucial elements of development in the society i.e. bonhomie and equality, to bring sustainable change in the society.

  • Team Walking Froggies completed the 100-km trail in 17:36:36 hours

India’s First Women Political Party unveiled in Mumbai; Urges 50% reservation quota for females in LokSabha 2019

21st January 2019, Mumbai:  Headed by a doctor and social activist, Dr SwethaShetty, launches the first-ever political party dedicated for women which aims at get 50% reservation for women candidates in upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Named National Women’s Party (NWP), a party of mothers, is a historic step in mission to guarantee equal representation in the Parliament. The ideology behind formation of this party is to remove gender disparity in politics and thus creating equal importance for females in the patriarchal society. 

“The battle to get a reservation in the parliament has been for over twenty years now. The grueling fact is that we live in a society where most of the political decisions are governed by the males and not having an equal say in the parliament just narrows the possibility of empowering women. With this party’s initiative, we aim to create an environment for full development of women which enables them to realize their full potential and help in achievement of goals of empowerment,” Shetty said.

Talking about future plans, NWP soon plans to launch a mobile app called MahilaRakshak (Safety App) which aims at giving women assistance in times of emergency. The app requires its user to, when in danger, shake the phone or say ‘HELP’ multiple times which in turn sends SMS alert to 3 friends and relatives.

 “Women’s safety is of utmost importance considering the rise in cases of crimes in the recent times. Through these initiatives, I strongly wish that every girl should be able to live wholesome life and step out of home without any danger,” she added.

NWP also plans to open Youth Parliament (political schools for women) in every state which provides practical and academic training that encourages them to become involved in the political process.

Anand Diagnostic Laboratory – A Neuberg Associate and Neuberg Anand Reference Laboratory organizes Blood Donation and Stem cell donor registration drive jointly with TTK Blood Bank and Bangalore Medical Services Trust

Bangalore, 19th January 2019:Anand Diagnostic Laboratory – A Neuberg Associate one of India’s oldest and leading, stand-alone diagnostic services company and Neuberg Anand Reference Laboratory, recently conducted Blood Donation and Stem Cell Donor Registration drive in association with TTK Blood Bank and Bangalore Medical Services Trust at its main facility located in Anand Tower, Shivajinagar Bangalore. The aim of this drive was to contribute to the build-up of bloodstock and to create awareness on the importance of donating blood and stem cells.

The donation and registration process was managed by dedicated team from Anand lab jointly with TTK Blood Bank and Bangalore Medical Services Trust. More than 105 people volunteered for blood donation and 26 stem cell donor registration were done at the centre. Apart from the employees of Anand lab general public also contributed to help those  who are in need of blood transfusions. The Blood donation drive is being conducted by Anand recentlyin Bangalore.
