SMART ASIA 2017 Expo & Summit

Event to highlight 3 themes, 3 featured exhibition areas,and over 20 keynotes and panel discussions

Bangalore, November 21, 2017 – Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), a non-profit Taiwanese government co-sponsored trade promotion organization, today announced the First Edition of ‘Smart Asia 2017—Expo & Summit’, which will be held November 23-25 at the White Orchid Convention Center in Bangalore. The event will connect Taiwan’s expertise in building efficient smart cities with India’s burgeoning Smart Cities Mission. The first edition of the trade show focuses on three main themes: Smart City Solutions, Smart Technology Applications, and City Development Products and Services.

Medlife launched #ReverseDiabetes Campaign on the occasion of World Diabetes Day

~Free Diabetes checkups carried out connecting hundreds of people~

Bangalore, 15th November, 2017: On the eve of World Diabetes Day 2017, free diabetes camps were installed on behalf of Medlife at a popular mall in Koramangla, Bengaluru. This is a part of an effort to raise greater awareness around diabetes prevention, Medlife has launched a campaign called #ReverseDiabetes.

The campaign focuses on helping people identify their individual risk factors for pre-diabetes, as well as the steps they can take to reduce the likelihood of getting Type 2 Diabetes. More than 200 diabetes checkups were conducted, free of charge, by senior doctors and technicians. In case of irregular blood sugar levels, complete prescriptions were provided to the patients by expert diabetes specialists. The campaign was carried out all day long encapsulating a benchmark in the Wellness industry. Senior doctors from reputed hospitals were present at the event and invoked awareness between the masses on how to better manage and prevent the disease.

The event was hosted by Medlife to highlight and educate the people with diabetes. The doctors spoke to the people about daily nutritional food intakes to keep sugar levels at bay and addressed issues to do with Type1-2 Diabetes. With India being the Diabetes Capital of the World, with as many as 50 million people suffering from type-2 diabetes, India has a challenge to face. However, Medlife feels that timely detection and right management can go a long way in helping patients lead a normal life. Un-monitored prevalence of diabetes can result in increased risk of vascular complications like cardiovascular, renal, neural and visual disorders which are related to the duration of the disease.

YKK and Real Madrid Foundation unite to coach underprivileged youth for its CSR program in Bengaluru

Bangalore, Friday 11th November 2017: YKK is back in India for the third time for its regional Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the YKK Asia Group Kids Football Clinic(AFKC). Jointly organized by YKK HOLDING ASIA PTE. LTD. (YHA) and YKK INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, in partnership with Real Madrid Foundation (RMF), this biannual eventaims to use the beautiful gameof football to provide underprivileged children in the region with this unique experience of a lifetime.

The clinic which will be held over 3 days from November 10 to November 12,will see280 local children and 30 local coaches train with professional coaches from Real Madrid Foundation at the FSV Arena in Bangalore. The children were selected from the Surabhi Foundation Trust, Sumangali Seva Ashrama, Need Base India and Kasturi Trust. Coaches from the Real Madrid Foundationwill impart theirworld-class trainingtechniques and methods to the local coaches. This formula willbe replicated with the participating children who will then have afruitfultime in an interactive training session with them.

Known as the “Cycle of Goodness”, YKK’s corporate philosophy states that, “No one prospers without rendering benefit to others.” This same philosophy provided the spirit and motivation for the clinics.
